Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Kenya?

A: Yes, most tourists require a visa. You can apply for an e-visa online immediately after booking your trip & before arrival at  https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en

 

Q: What vaccinations or health precautions are required?

A: The World Health Organization recommends vaccines for Yellow Fever (if traveling through South Africa), Hepatitis A, and Typhoid. Malaria prophylaxis (anti-malaria) is also advised. Consult your doctor for personalized advice.

 

Q: What should I pack for the safari?

A: Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, binoculars, and a camera.

 

Q: Is the water safe to drink?

A: Drink only bottled or filtered water. Avoid tap water and ice cubes.

 

Q: Is it safe to travel in Kenya?

A: Kenya is generally safe for tourists, especially in major safari destinations. Follow your guide’s instructions and avoid venturing out alone at night.

 

Q: Will my phone service work in Kenya?

A: This depends on your phone carrier, data plan and phone operating system (apple or android). Most service carriers have an option to temporarily unlock your phone. You may also be able to use public WIFI when available. Contact your service provider for information.

 

Q: Will I be able to use my credit cards and bank cards in Kenya?

A: Most major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express) are accepted at majority of establishments in Kenya.  Acceptance of cards still depends on your credit card and or debit card issuer.  Contact your card provider for information.  We also suggest to contact your provider informing them your exact travel date in Kenya.
